What is ARA-290?
ARA-290 is a peptide that is derived from erythropoietin (EPO). EPO has been utilized for decades because of its ability to stimulate red blood cell production within bone marrow. It can also alter a patient’s blood pressure, promote cell survival, and create a neuroprotective effect.
While ARA-290 does not stimulate red blood cell production, it does offer pain-relieving and neuroprotective effects. It also has the potential to stimulate wound repair in patients with chronic diabetes, but this property is still being researched.
ARA-290 is being studied as a possible treatment for systemic lupus erythematosus, as well.
Benefits of ARA-290
The full scope of ARA-290s benefits is still being researched. However, it has the potential to decrease the user’s inflammatory pathways through a process known as paracrine signaling. It has also been linked to reduced HbA1c and improved cholesterol numbers. Studies that have produced these results are still in the trial stages.
Perhaps the most appealing possibility for ARA-290 is that it may have the ability to reduce neuropathic symptoms and stimulate natural wound repair processes.
This peptide serves as an exciting treatment option for patients that are dealing with chronic neuropathic pain and diabetes-related ailments. It can also be safely paired with other peptides likeBPC-157 , which has healing properties.
Neuropathic pain resulting from neuropathy, neuralgia, and fibromyalgia affects millions of people every day. This condition, which is most of the time considered to be chronic pain, is actually thought to be underestimated in the population (possibly affecting millions more). Some patients are affected slightly, reporting increased (but manageable) nerve pain. Other patient’s pain could be debilitating - leading to a major reduction in their quality of life.
As a reminder, neuropathy is when your peripheral nerves aren’t working correctly, leading to numbness or weakness usually localized in your hands and feet. Neuralgia is when a nerve is damaged or inflamed and leads to a sharp, shocking pain along the path of the nerve. Fibromyalgia is when you experience widespread pain in your muscles. It can magnify painful sensations due to the way it affects how the brain processes pain signals. Do you suffer from any of these symptoms? Maybe you suffer from nerve issues but have never been professionally diagnosed.
There are medications on the market that can help these patients, however, they might come with side effects. A new study’s findings on peptide therapy have shown great promise in helping to treat these issues. The groundbreaking peptide, ARA 290, also known as Cibinetide, could have the potential to help millions with nerve problems. Not only can it help relieve pain associated with nerve conditions, but it can also fix and repair your nerves instead of just covering up the symptoms.
What is ARA 290/ Cibinetide?
ARA 290 is a peptide made up of a linkage of eleven amino acids. There are thousands of different peptides, which have their own roles in the body. The ARA 290 peptide is an erythropoietin derivative that has healing and protective tissue properties. The newest research shows it can regenerate small nerve fibers, fixing a number of nerve symptoms.
How Does the Cibinetide Peptide Work?
While most of us experience properly functioning inflammation elevation (which is needed for normal bodily processes), it’s the tampering down of inflammation that our body struggles with. Instead of just shutting off inflammation for the time being using NSAIDs, this Cibinetide peptide can actually resolve that inflammation. It does this by activating your body’s natural repair system by turning on the Innate Repair Receptor and shutting down systemic inflammation.
What Did the “ARA 290” Peptide Therapy Study Find?
One study focused on patients suffering small nerve fiber loss (SNFL) that had sarcoid-related neuropathic pain. Over a 28-day period, 64 patients were given a dose of Cibinetide subcutaneously (under the skin) in amounts of either 1mg, 4mg or 8mg or placebo daily. The first dose was administered at the research site, but the rest of the 27 days were self-administered by the patient. These patients, on average, had been dealing with small nerve fiber loss for 6 years when the study was conducted.
After the 28 day trial, the patient’s corneal nerve fiber area (CNFA) and length (CNFL) were measured, along with measurements of their pain severity and functional capacity via a 6-minute walk test (6MWT). The 4mg dose results showed a significant increase in the corneal nerve fiber area with great branching and length in the small nerve fibers. It also showed that patients who were experiencing moderate-to-severe pain initially had the largest pain reduction in the 4mg dose group. Those patients in the 4mg group also saw improvements in the 6-minute walk test where they were able to walk a longer distance compared to the baseline and placebo group.
These findings are very promising since this was performed over a short 28 day period. Even within that short time, nerve regeneration was observed and the patient’s pain was reduced.
A longer trial time will have to be studied to see long term effects of Cibinetide peptide therapy, however, this phase 2b clinical trial looks very hopeful.
Is ARA 290 Available to the Public?
There could finally be a solution to your pain. While some drugs are great at making you feel better, most just cover up the symptoms and never fix the root cause. Cibinetide is the first treatment that could actually fix the underlying cause of this nerve pain. It is available to be prescribed by physicians but chances are your physician does not know about it.
Other Natural Ways to Manage Nerve Pain
There are ways that you can try to help your nerve pain before treating it with medications. Here are a couple of things you can try starting now to improve your nerve pain symptoms.
- Quit Smoking: Smoking reduces blood flow through your body by narrowing your blood vessels. If your nerves are damaged already, poor blood circulation is only going to exacerbate this. Not only is smoking harmful to neuropathic pain, but it is also damaging to numerous parts of your health.
- Massage Therapy: This can help increase blood circulation, reduce stress, and relieve certain tensions that may be making your pain worse.
- Meditation: This practice can help you mentally deal with and manage your pain. It can also help reduce stress, which can sometimes help your body relax more and therefore decrease your pain.
- Warm Baths: This can soothe and reduce the pain from numbness by increasing your blood circulation. Just be careful the water isn’t too hot if your sensory nerves are affected.
Peptide Therapies have been shown time and time again to be a great alternative option for treating numerous health problems. Instead of taking medications that could cause a number of side effects, looking into peptide therapy could be a beneficial option for you.
